MAD architects... the name says it all
Leave it to the Chinese to create some of the world's most
interesting and striking buildings! MAD Architects have
designed urban landscapes in every sense of the statement,
just look at the way they make use of lines.
It's in moments like these that make you feel a little more
inspired that there are people willing to push the boundaries
on what is possible.
Spare a thought for the poor construction folks though, it
boggles my mind that it is even conceivable to build such
structures.

the man who fell to Earth...
This is a novel about loneliness and isolation. A man like
being crashes in the Kentucky countryside and so begins
the American dream, to make lots and lots of money!
The plot is simple and elegant, make money by patenting
technology that doesn't exist and then build a ship to
get home.
Thomas J. Newton, the main character lives an isolated life
never revealing who or what he is or what his intentions are
and if by chance if you the reader have ever felt outcast by
society even remotely then you will instantly feel deeply
about Newton's plight.
Walter Tevis has woven a beautiful yet disturbing tale about
one alien's existence on our planet. It's hard to classify
this novel in the sci-fi genre because it is so utterly
believable and realistic.
friendships
Friendship, not really something you can buy;
but more like something you must earn,
friendships you buy, tend not to last long,
unlike friendships you earn, that could last a lifetime.
Friendships can only stay if you work together to keep them;
if friends can make it through hard and easy times,
and if they can trust each other till the end,
then that's what i call true friendship.
Great friendships can't be broken by simple matters;
some friendships even turn to love,
bur all friendships depend on one thing,
who you really are and really act.
Thats my definition of friendship.

the fleet foxes...
After seeing those beautiful harmonies live for a second
time on Tuesday night at the Tivoli in Brisbane i was once
again awe struck and reduced to a blubbering mess. The
fleet foxes are a gift from the musical heavens, please
don't leave us any time soon. My ears personally thankyou
for the tingling they received...

Jonathan Wilson, gentle spirit...album review
Gentle Spirit by Jonathan Wilson captures a moment
in time. Minimal production value makes this little
gem instantly recognizable, taking the listener back
to the golden age of hazey folk rock that made
Laurel Canyon famous. Sunday evening music at its
finest, each song containing lengthly jams that never
become overbearing, not surprising then that Wilson has
been a session musician for most of his adult life.
sit back pour a scotch, thoughts of mary-jane and
drift into a higher state. Let the journey begin...
there's just something about Glenn Murcutt...
probably Australia's best Architect, Glenn Murcutt has never
sold his soul in the chase for the all powerful dollar. His
simple yet striking designs merge together the modern and
retains natures best elements firmly believing in sustainable
living.

Madrid, 3 am....
Madrid, what can i say? If you haven't been then go!
One of the only places in the world where there are
more people on the street at 3am than during the
daylight hours, hundreds of people drinking and
socializing in public squares and parks, quality
live music in every second bar that you stumble across.
Suprising, cultural, dirty, beautiful, social, unique,
inspiring and above all lifestyle, these are a few
hastily typed words that describe monkmenagerie's new
favourite Spanish city.
